It's the first term of the school year! This term, the children learnt so many things about their school, how they travel to school, and the people they see in school. The term ended with a day of fun and exciting activities right here in school - a place familiar to all of us. Let's take a closer look at what we did!
“We are going on a bear hunt, we’re going to catch a big one!”
This term we have been reading and doing activities related to the book “We’re going on a bear hunt” by Michael Rosen. All the activities done during the outing were linked to the book. Prior to the outing, we have been learning the different actions that we can do when we ‘go through’ the different landscapes read about in the book. We’ve also done activities such as making bear puppets and masks, sequencing of the events in the book, as well as playing treasure hunt games around the classroom.
Children learn in a variety of settings, and their early years are fundamental in learning essential skills that will prepare them for life. The theme for this term is Community and the children will learn about the following in a safe and structured environment:

We are all members of the society that we live in. In this society, social rules are abound across schools, homes and various communities that we may be a part of. These social rules are further compounded by culture, age, gender, religion and even the languages that we speak. We are all expected to be able to identify these rules through observation, and to follow them. The failure to do so may have negative impact on us.
The WeCAN EIP programme was developed in 2004 as a key component of Project Platinum to meet the needs of young children with autism and their families in Singapore. The programme develops a scalable intervention package that can be implemented across Singapore and beyond for children with ASD between the ages of 18mths and 6 years. It also provides autism specific intervention for young children with the diagnosis of autism, in order to help them gain functional and independent skills for more successful transition.
